Safety City

Join Homeschoolers of Maine for a "Safety City" demonstration presented by Brad Kaherl from Central Maine Power.  The event will be held in Room 21 at Buker Community Center, 22 Armory Street in Augusta (across from the Armory) on January 16th at 2:30 pm.  

Brad has been working on this project for over 20 years. He will capture the attention of every participants as he explains the importance of electricity using a lifelike model of a city with characters who do not respect electricity.  There will be "pops" and "snaps" of electricity, and a burn of ozone when characters are not safe.  

Caution:  Due to the seriousness of the topic, there will be some discusion about how electricity can cause accidents and even death.  

This event is free.  Please consider making a $2 donation to HOME to help cover the cost of coordinating the trip.
